Piplup (Japanese: Pochama) is a Water-type Pokmon.

It evolves into Prinplup starting at level 16, which evolves into Empoleon starting at level 36.

Along with Turtwig and Chimchar, Piplup is one of three starter Pokmon Pokemon Gold Pokedex Pokemon Bulbapedia of Sinnoh available at the beginning of Pokmon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Piplup bears semblance to a penguin chick. It has yellow feet and a light-blue body. There are two white spots on its chest that seem to resemble buttons on a suit. It also appears to have a blue cape. It has a circular, blue head with white circles around its eyes and a small, yellow beak. The light blue mark between its eyes above the beak resembles a small crown.

Piplup mainly know how to use Water attacks such as Bubble, but they can also learn pecking moves.

Piplup have a large sense of self-pride. Because of this, a Piplup has a hard time accepting food from humans, and don't like it when someone tries to help them. Piplup is a poor walker, and often falls down. Its pride, however, makes it puff up its chest without a care. It is a skilled swimmer, diving for over ten minutes to hunt. In the anime, it can sometimes fly short distances, despite penguins not being able to fly.

As the Diamond & Pearl series continued, Dawn kept Piplup out of its Pok Ball more and more often, much like Ash does with his Pikachu.

A Piplup, who used to be a human, is also one of the two main members of Team Pokpals in the Pokmon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness and Pokmon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Beyond Time & Darkness.

Tyler, a rookie Trainer that appears in The Thief That Keeps on Thieving!, has a Piplup which appears to be female. He uses her to try capturing a Yanma.

Much like her anime counterpart, Platinum of Pokmon Adventures began her journey with a Piplup. Unlike Dawn's, however, it eventually evolved into a Prinplup, and later, into an Empoleon.

Hareta randomly selects Piplup to battle the enraged Onix in the first chapter. After their first encounter with Onix, Hareta chooses Piplup as his first Pokmon. Piplup is originally disobedient to Hareta, but listens to him in order to defeat the Onix in their second battle.

Jigglypuff (Japanese: Purin) is a Normal-type Pokmon.

It evolves from Igglybuff when leveled up with high friendship and evolves into Wigglytuff when exposed to a Moon Stone.

Jigglypuff appear to be round, pink balls with small, cat-like ears and very large eyes. Jigglypuff have rubbery, balloon like skin. They have small stubby arms, but rather large feet and no tail. Jigglypuff use their big, round eyes to mesmerize their opponents. Once their foe is distracted, they will inflate their lungs and begin to sing a soothing lullaby. If the opponent resists falling asleep, these Pokmon will endanger their own lives by continuing their song until their lungs run out of air.

Jigglypuff are mostly found in lush green plains and grassy meadows, but they sometimes do appear in caves. Jigglypuff can also be found in some cities and towns. It is indigenous to every region except Orre.

From The Song of Jigglypuff through the end of the Johto series, a wild Jigglypuff followed Ash Ketchum's group, intent on performing its trademark song without causing its audience to fall asleep.
